Overview

Directions for Our Youth, Inc. partnered with JPD Studio during a period of organizational growth, when the team was investing in a refreshed brand and stronger communications tools to support its youth development programs. The organization needed a digital presence that could clearly convey its mission, programs, and impact to families, supporters, and community partners.

JPD Studio worked alongside the DFOY team to develop a cohesive brand identity and a new website experience that reflects the organization’s values and work. The project included brand strategy, logo development, a flexible visual identity system, and the design and development of a fully customized Squarespace website built to support storytelling, program awareness, and long-term engagement.

Visual Identity

The new identity was designed to reflect the organization’s commitment to youth empowerment while maintaining a tone that feels welcoming, credible, and community-centered. The system balances clarity and warmth, creating a brand that is accessible to families, supporters, and partners alike.

Rather than a single static logo, the identity was developed as a flexible system with defined color, typography, and usage guidelines. This structure allows the organization’s team to apply the brand consistently across digital platforms and everyday communications, from newsletters to program materials.

Website Strategy

The website was structured to make it easier for visitors to understand the organization’s mission, explore programs, and find ways to get involved. Clear navigation, thoughtful content organization, and accessible storytelling help guide users toward key actions such as learning about programs, supporting the organization, or connecting with the team.
