Overview

The Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness (CCH) selected JPD Studio through a nationwide Request for Proposals to lead a comprehensive brand and digital transformation at a pivotal moment for the organization. CCH needed a clearer, more powerful way to communicate its mission, center lived experience, and support advocacy, education, and systems change around housing justice.

JPD partnered with CCH on a full-scope engagement spanning naming, brand strategy, visual identity, and the design and development of a new website. Through in-depth discovery sessions and collaborative workshops, we clarified organizational goals and translated complex advocacy work into a cohesive, values-driven brand. The resulting identity system, brand guidelines, social media direction, and data visualization approach work together to amplify CCH’s voice and strengthen its public presence.

CCH builds community power and advances racial equity through organizing, advocacy, legal assistance, and education to prevent and end homelessness.

Visual Identity

JPD crafted a visual identity that centers dignity, equity, and lived experience—reflecting the humanity at the heart of CCH’s work. The identity system brings together a bold yet approachable logo, thoughtful typography, and a purposeful color palette designed to feel grounded, credible, and empowering. Every element was created to support clarity and accessibility while honoring the urgency of housing justice work.

Built as a flexible system, the visual identity extends seamlessly across digital platforms, print materials, and social channels. Supported by clear brand guidelines, the new identity gives CCH the tools to communicate complex advocacy issues with confidence and consistency—amplifying voices, strengthening storytelling, and reinforcing their role as a trusted leader in the fight to end homelessness.

Website Strategy

To ensure the website functioned as a strategic tool—not just a visual refresh—we conducted a comprehensive content audit and restructured the site’s information architecture. We streamlined user pathways, reorganized content hierarchy, and designed a custom mega menu to improve navigation and access to critical resources. The result is a modern, accessible digital platform that supports engagement, education, and action across CCH’s diverse audiences.

Impact & Reflection

This project represented more than a rebrand or a website redesign, it was an opportunity to support an organization working at the intersection of housing, racial equity, and human dignity. By creating a clearer, more powerful platform for CCH’s advocacy, JPD helped strengthen how their work is seen, understood, and shared. The result is a brand and digital presence that reflects both the urgency of the issue and the humanity of the people at its center.
