Sara Moulton’s amazing career spans 30 years. She hosted 5 seasons of “Sara’s Weeknight Meals” on PBS, is co-founder of the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance, was executive chef of Gourmet magazine, Food Editor of ABC-TV’s ”Good Morning America,” and the host of several well-loved shows on the Food Network during that channel’s first decade.
Her former website wasn’t keeping up with her content display needs and the pace of her growth. Its narrow template wasn’t responsive for mobile devices, and the content had piled up over the years in various unintuitive ways and was missing a clear hierarchy.
We took a step back and created a website redesign plan that would result in a clear organization of Sara’s many resources, with a homepage to serve as a portal for her shows, appearances, cookbooks and latest recipes.
The colors of her branding were updated to pop against her mouth-watering recipe images.
Her Sara’s Weeknight Meals episodes were given a high priority in the navigation, allowing users to easily find recipes from each show after it has aired.
Her huge catalog of recipes appear in a very visual and easy to use/search grid where you can easily search by category or recipe.
Since launch, the site’s number of visitors increased by 25%, page views per visit increased by 47% and the time spent on the site increased by 19%.
