We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our latest website, www.CourtneyLeeCollection.com! We enjoyed working on this bold, clean new website design and development project for jewelry designer Courtney Udelson.

This custom designed and developed site was created on a WordPress platform, making updates a snap for Courtney and her team after the site launched. The collection’s beautiful jewelry pieces are sold directly on the site via ecommerce functionality. We also created a robust Press section with links that take users to the pages of specific jewelry pieces featured in the press items so they can make purchases even more efficiently. Users can also search for stores where Courtney Lee Collection pieces are sold by going to the Stockists page.

We love working with the ladies behind Dramabeans.com, the extensive and fun Korean pop culture blog (we designed the Dramabeans website and logo). So we were really excited to work with them on a new logo for their new venture, Dimension Four, LLC, a company to encompass all of their projects.

The logo was a great chance to work on a logo design to stand apart from the Dramabeans brand. The ladies wanted explore going a slightly more serious route; less bright than Dramabeans, but still polished and with a high impact. We loved the story behind the Dimension Four name; it stems from an on-going joke on Dramabeans.com that the founders need more time in the day to get it all done and would like a gateway to the fourth dimension. Of course, based on their prolific output, it’s quite possible they’ve found the gateway and are currently living there.

The finalized logo design plays on the imagery of a traditional Korean stamp. These individually personalized stamps have been used for thousands of years and are still used frequently in Korea to provide a signature to a certificate or document. We loved combining the tradition with the modern feel of what the ladies of Dimension Four LLC are doing to come up with the finished design.

There’s no way we can compete with the amazing blog-writing skills of some of our favorite ladies over at Dramabeans.com, so we’ll keep this short and sweet: we’re excited to announce the launch of a new logo and color scheme we created for this amazing Korean pop-culture blog!

We loved working with the Dramabeans ladies (who go by Javabeans and GirlFriday on the blog) on a redesign of the site back in 2010 (you can read about that here), so imagine our excitement when they reached out to us recently to work on a logo and updated color scheme for the site. The team at IDEAL Personnel came to us looking for a fresh new look for their website, www.ideal-personnel.com. We were excited to create a site with a polished, bright design to reflect the energy at this Miami, Florida-based firm specializing in the placement of temporary, temp-to-perm and direct hire professionals.

When the principals at the company reached out to us initially, their website design did not reflect the look and feel they envisioned for their brand and they were not able to make updates to the site on their own. Now, at the end of our website design and development project, they have a fresh, custom-designed site on a WordPress platform with the ability to make site updates themselves as needed.

The IDEAL website target audience is divided into two groups – employers looking to fill jobs and job seekers looking for positions -  so it was important that users be clearly directed to the appropriate action they should take as soon as they arrived at the homepage of the site.

The site has a section for job seeking Candidates to submit a resume, get information on working with a recruiter and job interview tips. The Clients section contains pages with information on why choosing IDEAL can help their business, hiring options, and a break-down on the real cost per employee. We also integrated a Career section to allow job seekers to search job openings and submit their resume.

More Americans die from drug overdoses than car crashes each year – an alarming statistic. With that in mind, we have been proud to provide on-going technical and design support for The Partnership at Drugfree.org’s Medicine Abuse Project, which aims to combat prescription and over-the-counter medicine abuse by teens and young adults. This strategic campaign launched yesterday at Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station in New York City, and the JPD Studio team was there to show our support for this important initiative.

Medicine abuse is an epidemic, cutting across geographic, racial, ethnic and socioeconomic boundaries. The Medicine Abuse Project aims to prevent half a million teens from abusing medicine within five years. When the team from Candescent Films came to us seeking a website redesign that showcased their films in a sleek and sexy way, we were inspired and excited to get started. We’re proud to announce the end result: www.CandescentFilms.com.

Candescent Films, which produces socially conscious documentaries and provides grants for emerging filmmakers, has projects that are meant to inspire. We wanted the new site design to reflect that, so we worked to create a custom theme design to place an emphasis on beautiful images from the featured films on the site, including The Queen of Versailles, Sons of the Clouds and Who is Dayani Cristal.

As more films, grants and press items will be added to the site, we created several systems within the WordPress website’s content management system (CMS) to allow Candescent to handle updates on their own. For instance, they will be able to upload an image, which will be automatically resized and formatted correctly on the page; no coding needed!

We love working with creative folks. That’s why it was so fun for us to design and develop www.EtchComm.com, a custom website for Etch Communications, a digital publicity and marketing firm that works with authors and small businesses.

It was important that the Etch website have a polished, fresh, bright and engaging design and intuitive navigation for users looking for information about Etch’s services. We also wanted to make it simple for the Etch team to make updates to the website, so the site was coded on a WordPress platform with a content management system to allow them to add or remove images and text.

We also created a system to allow the Etch team to easily flow in properly sized and formatted book cover and logo images onto their Clients and Appearances pages without needing to know programming language, allowing them to keep their clients and portfolio easily updated. The site also includes a blog for news and social media marketing tips.

The 2012 Olympic Games are finally upon us! And while this would be thrilling all on its own, we’re really on the edge of our seats and are so excited to cheer on superstar athlete Sanya Richards Ross, who happens to be one of our clients AND a member of the USA Track and Field team competing in the summer games in London.

We designed Sanya’s logo and designed and coded her custom WordPress website last year (read about the project here).

Sanya, who set four world-leading times over 200 and 400 meters in her first three competitions of the 2012 season, is a medal contender for the women’s 200 meter, 400 meter and 4×400 meter relay events during the Olympic games in August.

Here’s a video of her incredible first place win in the Olympic trials in June that secured her place at the 2012 Olympic games.

The key days for Sanya in the Games will be her 400 meter race final on Sunday, August 5th, the 200 meter final on Wednesday, August 8th and the 4×400 meter relay final on Saturday, August 11th if all goes well.

If you’d like to let Sanya know you’re supporting her, please join us in wearing a braid in your hair on those days. Sanya has been rocking the “SRR Braid” in each and every competition. Lots of fans have caught on, emailing, tweeting and Facebooking pictures of themselves sporting the SRR Braid everywhere. Sanya has said that on her race days, she’ll feel like all of her fans will be in London with her if she knows everyone is wearing her signature braid on her big day. We were thrilled when the College of Westchester approached us to create the website design for their new CW Online Division, online.cw.edu. The website, which is a portal for the fantastic online degree programs offered through CW, is now live.

It was important that the look and feel of the online learning division be fresh and engaging while also keeping the established branding of the existing College of Westchester website. With this in mind, we worked closely with the College of Westchester team to create designs that help users find information about admissions, academic programs offered through the online division, and information about financial assistance. Users can also learn about the faculty teaching online courses, and can check in with the community page to find out about events and achievements to help connect them to the College of Westchester campus.

It was wonderful to work with this esteemed higher learning institution and be part of their effort to bring their degree programs to more people through their Online Division.
