What is my FTP login?
FTP stands for “File Transfer Protocol.” This is a fast way to transfer files from one host (server) to another over the internet. To access the FTP, you need an FTP login and password to access the files on your server. Therefore, if you ever need to edit files on your server, this would be information you’d need to provide to your web designer.
Your FTP information consists of your server address, your user name and your password. This is information you would obtain from your hosting company.
Here’s an example of what your server address would look like: ftp.mydomain.com
A few popular FTP programs are Filezilla (Mac and PC), SmartFTP (PC only) and Transmit (Mac only).
