Devon Sproule

Our client, singer/songwriter Devon Sproule, was born in Kingston, Ontario and grew up on a sprawling hippie commune in rural Virginia. An incredible performer, some of her influences include James Hunter and Lucinda Williams, and some of the classic rock & roll groups her parents loved, like the Beatles. At a young age, Sproule practiced vocal harmony with her father. Later she used his old guitar to strum out her first tentative notes. By the time she was 15, she was putting her musical talents to work, playing in front of local places for change from those who stopped to listen. Devon has said she never had any other dream in her mind but music. Devon’s fifth album, ¡Don’t Hurry for Heaven!, was released in March 2010.
BACKGROUND
JPD Studio has worked with Devon since 2004, when creative director and president Jessica met Devon at one of the musician’s shows in New York City. Jessica was drawn to the creativity evident in Devon’s voice and song-writing. The two decided to work together to build a new website for DevonSproule.com, and years later, we’re still proud to be working with Devon. In fact, our office playlist usually includes Devon’s music, as well as that of her husband, musician Paul Curreri.
OUR DESIGN WORK FOR DEVON
We designed and coded Devon’s WordPress website, which contains features such as an automatically-updating tour calendar. A Twitter feed on the homepage also helps keep her fans in the loop of where and when she’s performing. The site also includes links to download her tunes, videos, photo galleries and reviews of her albums. JPD also designed and coded her Twitter and MySpace pages to create cohesive branding between the website and her social networking pages. Check out a gallery of our work for Devon Sproule below.
